Semester-1
MODULE 1: LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT
The primary topics covered are basics of logistics management, 3pl/4pl, logistics costs, function of logistics, lead time, transportation management, reverse logistics, logistics performance, logistics information system and green logistics.
MODULE 2: WAREHOUSING MANAGEMENT
The primary topics covered are warehousing management, functions of warehouses, characteristics, types of warehouses, warehouse costs, warehousing design and layout, ideal warehouse, warehouse processes from replenishment to dispatch, warehouse operating principles, picking strategies and equipment, handling equipment and ICD/CFS.
MODULE 3: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
The primary topics covered are supply chain management, functions of supply chain management, scm evolution, logistics in SCM, supply chain strategy, supply chain design, SCM analysis, demand management, demand forecasting, the bullwhip effect, SCOR model, and technological tools for SCM.
MODULE 4: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
The primary topics covered are production management, operations management, strategy and productivity, forecasting methodology, capacity planning, process selection and facility layout, production design scheduling, inventory management, aggregate planning, MRP, ERP, JIT, lean operations, management of quality and performance measures.
MODULE 5: INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
The primary topics covered are inventory management, inventory types, inventory classification methods, inventory management models, inventory costing, lead time management, inventory costing, forecasting demand, inventory calculation methods and successful inventory models in organization.
Semester-2
MODULE 6: SHIPPING MANAGEMENT
The primary topics covered are shipping management, shipping geography – economical geography, oceans and seas, canals, inland waterways, climate, tides, current, plimsoll line, cargoes and trade routes, ship types, ship management, crew, ship contracts, registration, liner trade, tramp trade, hague/hague-visby, hamburg & rotterdam rules, shipping organizations, societies, association, shipping procedures and documentation.
MODULE 7: SHIPPING DOCUMENTATION
The primary topics covered are international trade, shipping procedures, ocean bill of lading (B/L), airway bill (AWB), import and export documentation, commercial, customs & transportation documentation, export-import clearance of break bulk & containerized cargo, customs policies, Exim policies, shipping agency/company operation, port documentation formalities, EDI/ E-documentation, annexure-documents samples.
MODULE 8: SHIPPING BUSINESS
The primary topics covered are shipping business entity, shipping business sectors, shipbroker-their role and function, shipping trade market, dry cargo and oil market, chartering of ships, dry cargo chartering, foreign currency & currency hedging, liner agency, port agency, freight forwarding and shipping business ethics.
MODULE 9: EXIM TRADE
The primary topics covered are Introduction to EXIM trade, international trade environment, global economic scenario, international trade policies and trade organization, EXIM channel, Incoterms, EXIM procedures, EXIM documentation, export promotional schemes and export finance.
MODULE 10: MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT
The primary topics covered are multimodal transport, international distribution, types of transportation, pest factors of transportation, multimodal transport operation, modal interfaces, function of ports, airports, inland depots, railheads, types of multimodal services, agency and contractors in multimodal transport, transport pricing, sale contracts and documentation.
